Astrology
Commentary:
To be concise as possible, astrology is bullshit. The basis for its function rests on ancient beliefs about the universe that didn't really pan out. People still cling to it anyway. Maybe the idea of fate, determinism, that things about you are defined outside of your control or experiences, freedom from free will or something has a powerful attraction.
We've learned so much about the universe, that for me, makes ancient superstitions obviously an artifact of time where the truth was just so far out of reach because of the limits of technology and accrued knowledge. People who lived back then weren't stupid, they wanted to know and to explain the world around them. They did the best they could. Many of them would have given anything to know 1% of the things we know now. Just as I would give anything to know 1% of the things discovered a few thousand years from now. I bet it's fantastic.
Some ancients I think would be ashamed to see how their mistakes and misunderstandings of the universe are held up as sacred and revered in the face of of a contrary universe. I could say the same thing about the present.
